“Wraith Pinned to the Mist and Other Games”

Maybe I’ll never die,
I’ll just keep growing younger with you,
And you’ll grow younger too,
now it seems too lovely to be true,
but I know the best things always do.

Let’s pretend we don’t exist,
Let’s pretend we’re in Antarctica

Thinking about this past weekend makes me instantly blush, makes my knees feel a little weaker, my heart happier, and also extremely grateful for time spent with loved ones.

On Friday night I hung out with Justine for a few hours, mainly just chatting in my bedroom before we headed out to grab some dinner. We’ve been friends since 6th grade making her my oldest friend. I still know a few other people from 6th grade but I’d say it’s been a good 2-3 years since I last spent any time with them.

Saturday morning I got to see my family and even though we didn’t talk too much just a handful of words were enough to tide me over for a little while. I feel like I don’t see my family as much as I used to because I no longer work with my aunt and uncle (so I would see them daily). I feel family-time-deprived, but I text them as often as I think of them.

I also did a fair amount of reading (oh finally?) — and eeee my soul feels rejuvenated. Cue confetti throwing here.

On Sunday I did a little me-time jogging around my community before heading out on a hike with my friend Jessika and our Siberian Huskies. Spending time with my troublemaker baby was so much fun. He really got a second wind on the way back from the trail and it was nice seeing him get some really legitimate exercise. I think he napped for a couple hours afterward heehee.

And of course in between all my adventuring there was fun time spent with Daniel. I really reaaaaally don’t want to be the type of ~girl~ that turns into a gigantic puddle of gushing mush so I’ll abstain from using any romantic adjectives or adverbs here. I think real-life gushing is more than sufficient to prove the point of my affection.

But seriously one weekend full of personal time, family time, friend time, dog time, romantic/love time? Uh… I don’t think it gets any better than that.
